Making run outs/color flow is quite fun. It is the size of the motif and how many details there are on it that decide if it is hard or easy to make.
With this one having large parts to fill is a easy one. I had most problems with the eyes.

I would like to know if this same technique can be accomplished with buttercream icing? Would the effect be the same?

Hi , Can i use run outs on buttercream icing?

I just use royal icing thinned down with water and nothing else. I like water better than egg white.
Im not sure my icing is shiny? it has more like a matte finish. But I have seen cookies with really shine but i think thats glaze but im not sure.

Wow.... This looks amazing... however... it seems kind of hard ;)
